The focus of Guatemala 2007 (August 10-20, 2007) will be to continue the building of "El Eden" Christian Youth Camp to serve the Christian Schools of Guatemala. At present this is being run in Huehuetenango with rented facilities.

Missionary Ventures has helped construct a number of Christian schools in Guatemala over the last 10 years, to which over 6000 children attend. A number of these schools are being served by this camp now and it will be moved to the new location when finished. Kids compete in an “olympics” in order to attend.

The project is being worked on year round by local people, plus a number of teams from North America. Work is suitable for both men and women and there will probably be some lighter work available - making re-bar cages, tool management etc. We expect to pour a lot of cement - using gas cement mixers and wheel barrows. However, there are a number of possibilities and block laying skills, forming etc will be useful.

The Missionary Ventures Purpose:

• To bring about an awareness that leads to action among Canadians as to the plight of the lost and hurting world.


• To create, develop, coordinate and administrate personal involvement in missions (mission teams, funding, prayer, encouragement, etc.)


• To provide an accountable means of managing and administrating designated support to the mission field.
